POST COLLECTION. JD Allen (1851-1947) had renown Native American collection at his trading post in Mandan, North Dakota only 45 miles from the Standing Rock Reservation. This war club has 4" double pointed stone mounted on 26" rawhide covered haft, 4 strands of red bead decoration. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: biography of JD Allen including history of his trading post. Note from Lenard Cave concerning this war club & JD Allen. CONDITION: very good and solid overall, stone has age crack. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of Lenard Cave. (02-27343/JS).
